Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MindMeter collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the MindMeter mobile application and related web pages.

1. Information We Collect
MindMeter may collect the following information, depending on the features you use:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, sign-in provider, user ID, account creation date, and account update date.
- Profile information: optional date of birth, gender, profile photo, preferences, subscription status, and invite or referral details.
- Assessment information: cognitive test activity, test history, scores, answers, timing, and related session results.
- Voice and speech information: microphone input or temporary audio recordings when you choose to use voice-reading or speech assessment features.
- Images: photos you choose from your camera or gallery for profile features.
- Notifications and device tokens: push notification tokens and notification preferences if you enable notifications.
- Technical information: app version, device or platform information, authentication metadata, and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the app.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your MindMeter account.
- Authenticate sign-ins through email, phone, Google, Apple, Facebook, or other supported providers.
- Provide cognitive assessments, voice-reading checks, charts, test history, and profile features.
- Save your settings, notification preferences, subscription status, and invite/referral information.
- Send service-related notifications when enabled.
- Improve reliability, security, abuse prevention, and app performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies.
3. Voice, Speech, and AI Features
MindMeter may request microphone and speech-recognition permissions for voice-reading assessments. Depending on the selected transcription method and your device platform, speech may be processed by on-device speech recognition services or sent to Google AI services for transcription. Temporary audio files used for transcription are deleted after processing when the feature completes.
Do not submit sensitive personal information through voice features unless you are comfortable with that information being processed for the assessment.
4. Third-Party Services
MindMeter uses third-party services to operate core app functionality, including:
- Firebase Authentication for account creation, login, and identity provider management.
- Cloud Firestore for storing account, profile, preferences, notification, invite, and assessment data.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
- Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and Facebook Login when you choose those sign-in methods.
- Google AI or speech services when voice transcription features require them.

5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only when needed to provide the app, process data through the third-party services listed above, comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
6. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide the app, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may request account or data deletion using the contact method below. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including Firebase security controls, authentication, access restrictions, and platform permission prompts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can control your information in several ways:
- Update profile fields and preferences in the app where available.
- Disable microphone, speech recognition, camera, photos, or notification permissions in your device settings.
- Unsubscribe from push notifications through app or device settings.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information.
9. Children
MindMeter is not intended for children under 13 years old, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International Processing
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including through Firebase, Google, Apple, Meta, and other service providers. These countries may have different data protection laws from your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or through the store listing where appropriate.
